I'm still not getting anything to work though. I just typed in "#terminal off", hit "program" and it didn't come up again. I had used the #terminal command before, in a "dynamic servo control" program by a guy on Instructables. I have that exact kit, Pete, with a 28X1. Goto main ‘ loop back to startThere's the code I'm using (copied straight from the PICAXE manual). Main: servopos 4,75 ‘ move servo to one end The LED I'm using definitely works, but it IS recycled from an old battery charger I ripped apart. This is used as I had the USB-Serial adapter already and the price difference is remarkable. I have my PICAXE 28X Starter Board from Sparkfun Electronics hooked into my computer via the Serial Cable and an Aluratek USB to Serial adapter. I am using the PICAXE Programming Editor in a Windows 8 圆4-bit architecture system. (same serial terminal thing here) I have the servo connected to the output pin 1. That is the only movement I get out of the PICAXE. by touching the pins together repeatedly. I'm working towards moving servos around, and I have managed to get my Hitec HS-646WP (analog) to twitch a few times. Side note - when I hold my LED onto any of the output pins on my PICAXE board (28pin) it lights up. I have tried a few other programs but the terminal always pops up and nothing happens.

I have absolutely no idea why this is happening. After that, nothing happens on the PICAXE. I follow the "getting started" manual to the letter, but when I press program it does the whole download thing and then "serial terminal" pops up. I'm just getting started with PICAXEs, so n00b question time.
